Production

Styles, reusable libraries, and tech pack overview.

Production — styles, libraries, and tech packs

Production is where one product becomes factory-ready. A style is a folder for a single garment (mockups and sketches). A tech pack is the spec sheet inside that style — walked as steps: visuals, materials, size chart, How to Measure, BOM and construction, with the live PDF beside you as you go.

Factories expect a clear, complete tech pack. Keeping it in the same style as your mockups means measurements and images stay matched to the right product.

1. Create a style — one folder per product (for example one jacket).

2. Add a tech pack from that style (one active tech pack per style), then walk the steps or run Auto-Complete.

3. The editor shows a live PDF preview (Split or Preview in the top bar). Auto-Complete can draw How to Measure and numbered callouts on your sketch first.

4. Save fabrics and trims in the material library to reuse on future products.

Planning a full range? Use Collections or Collection brief. New to tech packs? See the Tech packs help category for a step-by-step guide.

Styles

How do I link a mockup to a style?

A style is one product folder (for example one jacket). Linking mockups keeps product photos and factory specs in the same place.

1. Open the style → Mockups tab.

2. Choose Link Existing Mockup to pick from mockups not yet linked to another style, or Generate New Mockup to create one already attached to this style.

You can also start a tech pack from a mockup — tap Create tech pack. If the product type is known, the pack opens in the editor; otherwise you finish the create screen. A style is created for you if needed.

On a team workspace, styles are team work, so linking a mockup to a style shares it with the team automatically. You can link your own mockups and ones already shared with the team. A teammate’s “Only me” mockup can’t be linked.

Styles
How do I create a style?

A style is a folder for one product — for example one jacket. It holds mockups, sketches, and the tech pack for that garment.

1. Open + Create → Style, or Production → Styles → Create.

2. Enter a name, product type, season, and optional brand link, then save.

3. Open the style and use the Mockups tab to link existing mockups or generate new ones. When you are ready for factory specs, add a tech pack from the same style — the pack is named for you, and the size scale sits under Tech pack details (choose Change). One style keeps one active pack.

Styles and tech packs are on every plan, including the Free plan (up to 3 active tech packs). In a team workspace they need the workspace to be on a paid plan.

Create style
How do I create a tech pack?

A tech pack is the factory spec sheet for one product. It always lives inside a style.

1. Open + Create → Tech Pack, or start from a style, mockup, or sketch.

2. Pick the style the pack is for, or start a new one from a photo, a sketch, or a written description. Naming the product and picking its type creates the style for you. Pack name, status, and size scale are under Tech pack details — choose Change to set them.

3. Press Create. If that style already has a pack, you are sent to the existing one — one active tech pack per style.

Once the editor opens, a blank pack offers Draft this tech pack with Auto-Complete — it does not start on its own. Move through Product visuals, Materials & colours, Size chart, How to Measure, Bill of materials and Construction notes, with the live PDF preview beside you (Split) or on its own (Preview). Tap Auto-Complete to draft the empty sections. It draws the How to Measure guide and numbered callouts on your sketch; you review and accept before anything is written. You can also type every field by hand. Your edits save themselves.

Libraries

Material library vs BOM — when to use each

Material library — a reusable catalogue of fabrics, trims, labels, and hardware you use across many products. Save a fabric once; pull it into any tech pack BOM. When you save a change to a library entry that tech packs use, clothink asks whether to update those tech packs. Choose Update to copy the change into them; choose Dismiss and they keep what they had.

BOM (bill of materials) — the list of trims, labels, thread, hardware, and packaging for one garment, inside a tech pack. Add rows yourself, pull from the material library, or tick BOM in the Auto-Complete picker. Fabrics live in Materials & colours.

Rule of thumb: save staples (your core fleece, main label, standard thread) in the material library. The BOM is the per-style shopping list you send to the factory.

For step-by-step BOM and AI order, see the Tech packs help category.

What is the difference between a style and a tech pack?

A style is the product folder: name, season, and the mockups and sketches for one garment. A tech pack is the factory document inside that style — size chart, bill of materials (fabrics and trims), construction notes, and the PDF you export. One style keeps one active tech pack (plus colourways for alternate colours).

Why link mockups to a style?

Linking keeps product photos and spec sheets together. When you manage many products, it reduces the risk of sending a factory the wrong mockup with the wrong measurements. See the Production help category for step-by-step linking.
